Disney Resort Stay — Select your preferred Disney Resort category: Value, Moderate, Deluxe or Villa Properties.
Disney Properties, like most resorts, have standard room occupancy of 4 people to a room with one child under 3 in a crib permitted in addition to the occupancy. However, for larger families with 3 or more children, you should know Disney affords a variety of accommodations in each category to accommodate you.

Value Resorts These are comparable to many of the fine options outside of Disney, this makes the old rule of thumb that staying outside the park would save money go out the window. There are 4 to pick from, All Star Movies, All Star Sports, All Star Music and Pop Century. Maximum Occupancy is 4 to a room however larger families can stay in the Family Suites at All Star Music where occupancy rises to 6. Value Resorts have food courts and are basically geared for families, however everyone is welcomed to stay here. Pools are themed but do not have slides.

Pop Century – V Moderate Resorts There are 4 of these to pick from, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Resort, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. Themed pools have slides. The Port Orleans Riverside has select rooms that offer a Trundle Bed for smaller children, permitting 5 people to a room. The others limit to 4 to a room.

Port Orleans French Quarter – M (large family friendly accommodations) Deluxe Resorts 7 lovely resorts to pick from: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht & Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian Resorts. These are located closer to the Parks, so less time traveling – some are within walking distance or have a Monorail stop in them! Rooms are larger, Pools are grander and more restaurants and amenities than the Value or Moderates offer. Most of these properties will house the Character Dining Experiences for instance. The biggest pool waterslide is at the Boardwalk. The Resorts on the Monorail loop are marked as well for those wanting that, most of these properties are walking distance to one of the major theme parks, however, and launch service is typically included using ferries. Most of these properties permit 5 guests to a room.

Grand Floridian – D + monorail Villa Properties 6 properties to choose from, the newest being the Animal Kingdom Villas, Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Beach Club & Boardwalk. Studios and 1 Bedroom Villas can accommodate 4 guests with 2 bedroom villas having a maximum occupancy of 8 guests. For guests wanting a Resort to stay in, these often have Tennis Courts, Health Clubs, Marina watercraft rental, themed pools with slides. Studios have kitchenettes, 1 and 2 bedroom villas have kitchens. Many are located very close to the theme parks.

Animal Kingdom Villas – Villa + Fort Wilderness still affords families the camping experience. The cabins can accommodate up to 6 guests and for families who don’t mind preparing meals while on vacation, there is a fully equipped. This is where the famous Hoop Dee Doo Musical Dinner Show is housed and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, there is also nightly campfire singalong with Chip ‘n Dale along with Disney Movies, Wagon Rides, Canoeing, Shuffleboard and other fun camping activities! Accommodations can hold up to 6 guests.
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground + What type of tickets do we need? Okay, you know the resort you want, now to make this trip really work for you the tickets should be added on since they are discounted when bundled with the room and not when purchased on site. Magic Your Way Base Ticket — Visit one Theme Park a day each day of your ticket. Added features for Park Hopper, Waterparks and More & No Expiration give your family the ability to package the perfect vacation for your needs, be sure to ask you’re your agent for help if you are unsure of the type of ticket days and options you should have. Dining Plans Disney affords your family the option of adding your meals onto your package, saving 30% or more. Here is an outline of the plans:
- New for 2009 - Quick Service - 2 Counter Service Meals, 1 snack per person, per nights stay.
- Basic Dining, this plan adds 1 Counter Service, 1 Table Service and 1 snack per person, per nights stay.
- Disney Deluxe Dining, 3 meals per person each night’s stay at your choice of Table and Counter Service Restaurants, 2 meals each day. One Resort refillable drink mug per person.
- Premium Package – 3 meals per person per night and Category 1,2 or 3 seating for Dinner Shows Character Dining, Signature Experiences and Private In Room Dining. Also adding in Sports and Recreation, Cirque du Soleil admission, Children’s Activity Centers, Theme Park Tours.
- Platinum Package – Same as Premium and adding Personal Itinerary Assistance, One spa treatment per adult, Photopass CD, Fireworks Cruise, Private in room babysitting, Reserved seating at Fantasmic, Nightly turndown service, Additional tours from the Premium list.
