Cartagena is a UNESCO city full of beautiful colonial architecture and 17th century forts set within the old city walls. It is also ideally located on the coast, with beautiful Caribbean beaches, making it the ideal place to add on a few relaxing days after your family Adventure.

A short break to enjoy the lush valleys of Central Colombia's coffee growing region, only an hour's flight from Bogota. Accommodation is in a delightful, rural farm-style hotel known as a 'Finca' which has been renovated from an old coffee farm. Amenities include a swimming pool, well maintained grounds, and walking trails. The Finca is a proud member of the 'Club de Haciendas del Cafe', a group of renovated coffee farms that pride themselves on restoring and maintaining traditional coffee farms with typical colonial architecture and decor, outstanding service, and comfortable surroundings. During the tour you will visit the Parque Nacional del Cafe (National Coffee Park) which encompasses almost everything relating to coffee, then onto a typical coffee farm to learn the full process of growing and processing coffee from the bean to the cup! Nearby, we will spend a full day in the stunning "Parque de Los Nevados" National Park, a unique park with it's high altitude vegetation, lakes, and home to the breath-taking, active Volcano Nevado del Ruiz (5,325m).

This action-packed Colombia family adventure tour takes you from the capital
city of Colombia, Bogota to the beautiful town of Cartagena on the Caribbean
Coast. Our Bogota City Tour includes the Plaza de Bolivar and Gold Museum, and
a ride on the funicular railway to the top of Monserrate Hill. We drive to Panacar
Park to learn about the agriculture of the area and life in the countryside,
and then stay in the beautiful colonial village of Villa de Leyva, where we
visit an Ostrich farm, Fossil Museum and take a horse ride in the desert. From
Santa Marta we take a day tip to Tayrona National Park to explore the beaches
and tropical forest, and we snorkel with certified instructors learning about
the fish of the Caribbean. Next stop the UNESCO listed city of Cartagena –
with its beautiful colonial architecture set within the old city walls and where
we will also discover the castle of San Felipe. From Cartagena we explore the
Rosario Islands, to swim off the islands beaches, visit the aquarium to see
its performing dolphins and sharks, and explore Pirate Island. We also visit
the Mud Volcano for a volcanic mud bath, before offering you free time in Cartagena
to enjoy this amazing city at your own pace.
