The great highlight of this trip is visiting the Masai Mara, home to the greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife in Kenya. Explore central Kenya and the Great Rift Valley and enjoy a night on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Visit Elsamere, home to the late Joy and George Adamson, and learn the history of wildlife conservation, much of which began in Kenya. Our final highlight is Lake Nakuru National Park, home to up to 4 million flamingos. An awe inspiring sea of pink can be seen at most times of year. It is also renowned for leopards, pythons and both black and white rhino. A fantastic way to end this brief introduction to East Africa.

This short lodge-based tour gives you a taste of some of the highlights of Kenya. From Nairobi it is on towards Mount Kenya, the highest mountain in Kenya, and second highest in Africa, located just south of the equator. Mount Kenya National Park is a UNESCO site, and here we take a guided nature walk before settling into our mountain lodge, our “tree hotel” on the slopes of the legendary mountain. Next stop Lake Nakuru, often a sea of pink due to the millions of flamingos found there. On to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, named after the Masai people, the traditional inhabitants of the area, and the Mara River. It is world famous for its exceptional population of game, which roam the vast plains, and the annual migration of the wildebeest and zebra from the adjoining Serengeti National Park.
Please note: This tour can be organised to suit your travel plans. Daily departures subject to availability are by request with minimum 2 people.

Test your fitness against the highest peak in Africa. Trek the Marangu Route, the only route on Kilimanjaro that has huts to stay in. Set off through the rainforest of the lower slopes, through open moorlands before reaching the snow line. The view from the crater rim is nothing short of spectacular, and on a clear day it is possible to see the curvature of the earth.

This week long fly in fly out safari covers two of the best reserves to be found in Kenya. Amboseli National Reserve is located at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, and is home to the nomadic Masai people. All around Amboseli you will see occupied and abandoned engangs – Masai villages quickly built and later abandoned when the grazing finished and the herds moved on. Mount Kilimajaro, with its snow-capped peak, forms a majestic backdrop to the spectacular wildlife found in the reserve. Porini Camp is set up in the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei. Next stop Kicheche Mara Camp, located on the Aitong Plains in the northern Koiyaki Lemek region of the famous Masai Mara. The camp is hidden in a grove of wild olive and croton trees in a prime wildlife area. Game viewing starts right from the camp itself.

Climb Africa's highest mountain via the stunningly beautiful Rongai Route, the least demanding and less crowded alternative. The trek follows the gentlest, more remote northern slopes and allows the most gradual acclimatisation, coupled with the chance to see wildlife on the lower slopes. The ascent to the summit is still arduous, but rewarded with the dawn view over glaciers and across the East Africa plains.
