Heart Of Tanzania
A fly in fly out safari covering two of Tanzania’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Within the Ngorongoro Crater lives a huge population of game, including black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, lions, wildebeest, zebra, eland and Thomson’s gazelles. On the crater rim are leopards, elephant, giraffe and buffalo. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth, and the Masai people have grazed their cattle on the vast grassy plains for centuries. But it is perhaps the annual migration for which the Serengeti is most famous, when over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebras head south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains, and then move west and north after the long rains.
